Start with a 1.5-hour boat ride to the trail where we begin with a walk along the estuary before starting a climb in the forest. After a brisk climb, the route flattens into muskeg and reaches a shallow lake. The trail skirts the north side of the lake and descends into forest on the far side before opening into muskeg again. The boardwalk passes a large muskeg pond and then enters the beach fringe of old-growth forest. The trail then emerges onto a two-mile-long sand beach in Sea Lion Cove, at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Level of Difficulty: Moderate. The hiking time is about 3.5 hours. The distance and uneven slippery surfaces of this trek require participants to be accustomed to physical outdoor recreation in all kinds of weather, without any facilities of any kind, and only for those who are physically fit. Trail Condition: There are roots, rocks, log steps, and boardwalk sections that can be slippery when wet, and extra caution will need to be taken. Group Size & Age: This private trek can have up to 6 participants. Due to the level of difficulty, this trek requires participants to be 12 years of age or older. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, a legal guardian, or an adult family member. Meeting Location: This is a private trek and we can pick you up at your location of choice.
